A British Second World War brass shell casing repurposed as a piece of trench art. The cylindrical body features hand-incised geometric diamond motifs. The base is stamped with 2 PR – No 2, a British military broad arrow, LOT 314, 1941, and the initials RLB and CF. A contemporary handwritten adhesive label is attached to the exterior identifying the object as a 40mm 2-pounder anti-tank gun shell.
