A large West German art pottery floor vase by Scheurich Keramik. The tapered cylindrical ceramic body is finished in a high-gloss dark chocolate brown glaze, featuring several horizontal bands of heavily textured, off-white fat lava or volcanic foam glaze. The underside is embossed with the form number 517, the height 45, and W. GERMANY. This piece is a quintessential example of the bold, experimental glazing techniques synonymous with the West German pottery movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Height: 45 cm.
