A fine Edwardian cased three-piece sterling silver condiment set, comprising a salt cellar, a pepper shaker (muffineer), and a lidded mustard pot, accompanied by two sterling silver condiment spoons. Each piece is crafted in a waisted pedestal form with octagonal faceted sides and flared bases. The mustard pot features a scrolled thumbpiece and a hinged lid surmounted by an acorn-style finial. The salt cellar and mustard pot both retain their original cobalt-blue glass liners.
Hallmarks: All pieces are fully hallmarked with the Lion Passant for sterling silver (.925) and the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office. The maker’s mark D & B for Deakin & Francis Ltd is present on all items. The salt cellar and pepper shaker bear the date letter c for 1902. The mustard pot bears the date letter E for 1904. One condiment spoon features the date letter F for 1905, while the second spoon bears a contemporary but less distinct mark.
The set is presented in its original professional fitted case with a black textured leatherette exterior, black velvet base, and cream silk lid lining.
