A late Victorian canary yellow uranium glass bowl produced by George Davidson and Co of Gateshead. This piece features the Lady Chippendale pattern, characterised by a combination of vertical oval panels and intricate pressed starburst and daisy and button motifs. The vessel is finished with a wide, crimped milky-white opalescent rim, a hallmark of Davidsons Pearline glass range. The bowl sits upon a low scalloped foot with a radial sunburst design to the underside. The interior well is embossed with the British registration mark Rd No 178566, which dates the registration of this specific design to 1891. Under ultraviolet light, the glass exhibits a strong and brilliant green fluorescence, indicative of its uranium content. Dimensions: Diameter and height unavailable.
