Buyer's Premium:

A diverse four-piece lot comprising three ceramic items and one historical banknote. The collection features a large  vase with a deep cobalt blue ground, decorated in white shishi (lion dog) amongst peonies and prunus; the base is marked NIPPON in brown, indicating a late Meiji to early Taisho period origin, circa 1891-1921. Also included is a polychrome porcelain figure of a bijin (beauty) in a decorated kimono holding a fan, dating to the mid-20th century. A miniature double-gourd porcelain vase with pink floral motifs and an apocryphal four-character red seal mark to the base reading Qianlong Nian Zhi (Made in the Qianlong Reign) is also present. The final item is a Second World War-era Japanese Government One Dollar note, issued as occupation currency for use in territories such as Malaya.
