A set of four seated porcelain figurines depicting a whimsical musical troupe of pixies or jesters. The troupe includes an accordion player, a violinist, a horn player, and a conductor or percussionist. Each figure is hand-painted in a vibrant colour palette of green, purple, and red, with delicate skin-tone accents. The ruffled collars and hat trims are highlighted with gold gilt. The bases are marked with a red stamp featuring a circular logo with a stylised four-pointed star, above the text MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. One mark shows a partial strike reading MADE IN PIED JAPAN. These items were produced during the Allied occupation of Japan between 1945 and 1952. Height approx. 8cm.
