A Victorian sterling silver watch chain of graduated curb link design, featuring three suspended British silver sixpence coins. The coins comprise two 1888 Jubilee Head examples and one 1868 Young Head example, each drilled and attached via jump rings. The chain is secured by a traditional silver swivel clasp, also known as a dog clip. The clasp bears a partially legible maker’s mark and silver purity stamp. This style of sweetheart jewellery was a popular commemorative use of circulating coinage during the late 19th century. Length approximately 19-20 cm.
