Buyer's Premium:

A comprehensive collection of British Telecom (BT) phonecards, comprising both magnetic and chip-based examples from the mid-to-late 1990s. This archive captures a significant era in British telecommunications and graphic design prior to the widespread adoption of mobile telephony. The collection features a diverse array of licensed properties and commemorative series. Notable film and animation sets include Disney’s Toy Story (promoting the 1996 UK release), Hercules, Pinocchio, and the live-action 101 Dalmatians. Also present is a James Bond GoldenEye series and a complete set of Jim Henson’s The Muppets featuring Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. British heritage is well-represented through characters from The Beano and The Dandy, such as Dennis the Menace and Desperate Dan, alongside a poignant series depicting World War II scenes including the D-Day landings and VE Day celebrations. Sporting interest includes the England National Football Team series from the Euro ’96 era, featuring Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne, and Teddy Sheringham. Other thematic series include the Alexander Graham Bell 150th anniversary, “Flying the Flag”, “Forever Friends” bears, and various commercial promotional cards for brands such as Thresher Wine Shop.
