A cast iron Salop Fire Mark. This cast metal sign or plaque features a two-part design with painted and gilded elements. One section is a black rectangular panel with the raised, red, gold-outlined text “SALOP” oriented vertically. The other section is a green “P”-shaped panel adorned with three raised, gilded animal heads, possibly lions or leopards, arranged triangularly. “SALOP” translates to Shropshire, an English county.
