Auction 8th December - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables & More
A tabletop model of a Stuart No. 1 vertical single-cylinder stationary live steam engine, meticulously constructed and mounted on a polished rectangular wooden base. The engine’s frame and cylinder block are made of dark green painted metal, likely cast iron or steel, complemented by unpainted or polished steel shafts, connecting rods, and a large flywheel featuring a red painted spoke interior and a bare metal rim. Additional details include brass fittings on the cylinder head. The aesthetic evokes a vintage industrial style, representing a late 19th to early 20th-century design. Faint, possibly branded or incised initials ‘J.B.’ or ‘I.B.’ are visible on the underside of the wooden base.
