A Swedish Mid-Century Modern studio pottery vase, marked ‘VALLA’ to the base. The ceramic vessel features a tapered body and an irregular, organic rim. Its exterior is adorned with a textured surface, characterized by vertical, incised or raised striations in dark brown-black over a lighter, possibly cream-colored ground, creating a visually tactile effect. The base is further marked with ‘511/9’ and what appear to be artist’s initials, confirming its Swedish origin.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The unglazed base shows minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
