Auction 8th December - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables & More
A pair of vintage East Asian decorative figurines, likely crafted from resin, depicting a male figure holding a fan and gourds, and a female figure playing a stringed instrument. Both figures are dressed in traditional flowing garments and are mounted on dark, carved wooden bases. Yellow auction stickers marked ‘883’ are visible on the bases of the figurines. Accompanying the figurines is a framed vertical painting, rendered in watercolor and ink on paper or silk. It portrays a female figure with a fan beneath a willow tree in a landscape setting. The upper right corner features Chinese calligraphy, reading ‘御堤春曉稀’ (Yù dī chūn xiǎo xī), which translates to ‘Rare Spring Dawn at the Imperial Embankment’, followed by an additional character and a red artist’s seal. The artwork is presented in a dark wooden frame with a fabric mat under glass.
