A pair of Chinese Famille Rose glazed ceramic figures, dating to the 19th Century. Each figure depicts an elderly male of East Asian appearance, holding a golden spherical or gourd-like object. They are adorned in long, flowing robes intricately decorated with dense floral and scrollwork patterns in polychrome enamels, predominantly green, orange, and black, against a white ground, accented with extensive gold gilding on collars, cuffs, and various motifs. Their hair is neatly tied back, and they sport beards and mustaches. The figures stand on integral bases, with the unglazed undersides of their feet showing no discernible text or maker’s marks.
