A group of three British sterling silver articles, all assayed in Birmingham, dating from the early 20th century.
Comprising:
1. A sterling silver letter opener, hallmarked for B.LD, Birmingham, 1914 (Gothic ‘P’). It features an ornate intertwined handle and a plain blade.
2. A sterling silver golfing souvenir spoon, hallmarked for William Adams Ltd. (W&H), Birmingham, 1934 (capital ‘K’). The circular finial depicts a figural outdoor scene of golfers.
3. A sterling silver mechanical pencil or lead holder, hallmarked for J.F, Birmingham, 1909 (lowercase ‘k’). It is of hexagonal or octagonal cross-section with a textured surface and an extendable mechanism terminating in two prongs, and includes a suspension ring.
