Buyer's Premium:

A Japanese Imari charger plate, Meiji Period, featuring a scalloped rim. The plate is elaborately decorated in a vibrant polychrome palette of underglaze cobalt blue, iron red, green enamels, and extensive gilding. The central medallion showcases three large orange chrysanthemums with dark blue leaves, surrounded by radiating panels depicting phoenix-like birds, bamboo, smaller floral sprigs, and intricate geometric patterns. The reverse side is adorned with minimal underglaze blue stylized foliage decoration and exhibits three central spur marks along with a faint, rectangular underglaze blue mark, likely the character 福 (Fuku, meaning “good fortune”).
