Auction 8th December - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables & More
A vintage wooden hiking stick, commonly known as a Wanderstock, featuring a curved crook handle and a black rubber ferrule at its base. The varnished wooden shaft is extensively decorated with numerous shield-shaped and circular metal plaques, predominantly in colorful enamel or raised relief. These plaques commemorate various German and Austrian towns, landmarks, and mountain regions, including “Wildemann im Oberharz, ” “Braunlage-Harz, ” “Innsbruck Goldenes Dachl, ” “Luftkurort Söll 703 M- Tirol, ” “Schloss Itter, ” “Wilder Kaiser, ” “Austria, ” “Land Tirol, ” and “Münchhausenstadt Bodenwerder.” Specific dates like “1928” (Obergurgl), “1930” (Gross Glockner Hochalpenstr., Hahnenkamm-Wexel), and “1936” are visible on some plaques, strongly suggesting a period of collection or use during the late 1920s and 1930s.
