A collection of British railway-related memorabilia, largely dating to the mid-20th century. The group comprises a black cast metal oval plaque with raised white numerals and letter “83 G, ” and a semi-circular copper-toned metal ‘pay cheque’ token inscribed “G.W.R. 263.” Also included is a quantity of brass uniform buttons, some featuring a ‘G.W.R.’ monogram and others displaying various railway company logos. Accompanying these are a blue fabric-bound booklet titled “BRITISH RAILWAYS EASTERN REGION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE WORKING OF ELECTRIC TRAINS” for the Liverpool Street to Shenfield line, explicitly dated 1949 (effective 26th September), a related folded railway line diagram, and three black and white photographs depicting various railway infrastructure scenes.
