A brass rolling parallel rule by U.W.L. Makers Birmingham. The instrument is constructed from brass, exhibiting a visibly patinated surface, and comprises a flat rectangular base with two adjustable cylindrical arms connected by a central rod. It is housed within a hinged wooden case, possibly oak, which features a dark green velvet lining in the interior of the lid. Clearly visible stamped markings on the interior of the wooden case, below where the instrument rests, read “U.W.L. MAKERS BIRMINGHAM.”
