An ‘Original PETER’ hand puppet head, manufactured in Inzing-Austria, dated 1973. This molded and painted plastic head portrays a caricatured elderly individual with a wide, toothy grin, prominent rosy cheeks, and painted wrinkles. It features synthetic grey hair and is adorned with a patterned red fabric scarf, cinched by a brass-toned decorative clasp, from which a small, painted yellow metal bell featuring a dark plant motif is suspended. The reverse reveals a tan molded plastic base with an internal string mechanism. Inscribed on the base are the markings “Original PETER, ” “Inzing-Austria, ” “Copyright 1973,” and “International.”
