A collection of seventeen hand-painted pottery figurines, each depicting a caricatured figure with dark skin, prominent red lips, and textured black hair, dressed in blue tops and red bottoms. The figures are shown playing various musical instruments, including drums, saxophone, accordion, guitar, cello/bass, clarinet, and trombone, forming a complete band. Each figure stands on a square, black-painted base, many of which are marked with the raised lettering “ROBERTSON.” One figure’s base retains a yellow circular sticker printed with “HAND PAINTED POTTERY.” The style is characteristic of novelty or advertising items from the early to mid-20th century.
