A set of four hardcover novels by Jane Austen, published by The Folio Society, London, circa 1959. The collection includes “Mansfield Park, ” “Pride and Prejudice, ” “Sense and Sensibility, ” and “Emma.” Each book is housed in an individual light grey-tan cardboard slipcase. The books feature tan-colored cloth spines with gilt lettering identifying “JANE AUSTEN, ” the respective titles, and “FOLIO SOCIETY” marking. Each spine is further adorned with unique gilt decorative motifs, including a harp, rose, floral urn, and fan. When removed from their slipcases, the books reveal brown cloth spines with patterned paper boards in orange featuring a repeating leaf design. An interior page from “Mansfield Park” indicates publication in 1959 by The Folio Society, London, and features a decorative border and wood-engraving illustrations.
