Auction 8th December - Antiques, Jewellery, Militaria, Coins, Vinyl, Toys, Ceramics, Collectables & More
An English sterling silver open face key wind pocket watch, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. The round case features visible English hallmarks including the lion passant, crowned leopard’s head (London assay office), a monarch’s head duty mark (likely George III or IV), and a date letter resembling ‘Q’ or ‘G’. The dial is heavily tarnished or darkened, with applied gold-toned Roman numerals, centrally mounted hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, all accented by fine floral engraving. The reverse of the case is engraved with a personalized monogram, likely “WP, ” within a shield-shaped cartouche. The watch is presented within an aged, fitted red leatherette box with a cream paper lining
