A collection of two glazed porcelain and bone china figurines with associated packaging.
The first figurine is a porcelain group depicting a male and female ballet couple in a dynamic dance pose, identified through market consensus and markings as NAO by Lladró, pattern number 400, known as ‘Dancing on a Cloud’ or ‘Danza’. The figures are executed in predominantly pale blue and white glazes. The base is marked NAO HAND MADE IN SPAIN by LLADRO DAISA 1983. This figurine is associated with a worn original manufacturer’s box labeled “Brillo Danza N.° 400.”
The second figurine is a bone china representation of Tutankhamun, the Boy King, standing in a traditional Egyptian pose, decorated with vibrant polychrome glazes simulating gold, lapis, and linen. The piece is part of the Wedgwood ‘Legends of the Nile’ collection, sculpted by John Wincentzen. The base is marked WEDGWOOD Bone China MADE IN ENGLAND, ‘TUTANKHAMUN THE BOY KING,’ and states it is the first figurine in the collection, produced in a limited edition of 9,500, of which this is edition number 461. The base is dated 1996. This figurine is associated with a secondary pink box marked NAO.
