A World War II era British or Commonwealth pattern MkII steel combat helmet, commonly referred to as a “Tommy” helmet. The steel shell is finished in a matte olive drab/khaki paint and is fitted with an attached, coarse-mesh camouflage net of a matching color. The helmet features a tan/khaki canvas webbing chinstrap. The interior liner system is constructed of black leather or oilcloth material, segmented into pads around the rim and featuring a central dome cushion. A small yellow adhesive tag with the handwritten numbers “996” is visible inside the shell.
