A single antique tabletop dressing or shaving mirror, consistent with the American Empire or late Victorian style, circa 1870s. The piece is constructed from dark wood, likely mahogany or walnut veneer, exhibiting a prominent grain pattern across the base and frame. The mirror features a stepped, polygonal base supporting two heavily molded, scroll-form uprights. These uprights hold a rectangular mirror plate with a rounded arch top, mounted on pegs allowing the mirror to swivel or tilt. The form is commonly referred to in the market as an Empire Shaving Mirror or Vanity Mirror. No visible manufacturer’s marks or inscriptions are present.
