A single wide, shallow ceramic planter or jardiniere, executed in earthenware pottery. The form features a distinctive scalloped rim, highlighted with worn gold paint. The exterior is decorated with deeply carved or molded stylized floral and geometric patterns, finished with layered, distressed paints in mottled shades of green, mauve/red, and white. The interior is coated in heavily textured green paint, displaying prominent concentric throwing rings indicative of the manufacturing process. The object is consistent with the style of late 19th or early 20th-century Majolica or Art Pottery planters. No visible maker’s marks or inscriptions are present.
