Buyer's Premium:

An antique relief printing block, constructed of a thick, layered wooden base supporting a photo-etched metal plate, likely copper or brass. The plate features a detailed, reversed image of a large, multi-story neoclassical or Victorian-era building situated on a street corner. The image includes a detailed street scene featuring pedestrians and an early model streetcar or trolley. Mirror-image text is visible across the building’s façade, consistent with the nomenclature SAVINGS BANK when printed. The wooden substrate is dark and worn. The reverse side retains traces of a faded, soiled paper label bearing faint, illegible handwritten script in purple ink. This style of block printing suggests a period of use spanning the late 19th to early 20th century.
