A pair of antique sterling silver candlesticks, executed in a Neoclassical or early Victorian style. Each candlestick features a square, stepped base rising to a tapering stem decorated with vertical fluting (reeding) below the candle socket. The bases are typically weighted for stability. Full English hallmarks are visible on the base flange of both items, including the Lion Passant (Sterling Silver standard), the Anchor (Birmingham assay office), a date letter ‘P’, and the maker’s mark ‘HT’. The underside of the weighted bases is stamped with the numerical sequence 70027.
