A Royal Doulton Classics ceramic figurine titled “Father Christmas, ” model number HN 5040, copyrighted 2007. The figure is hand-made and hand-decorated, depicting Santa Claus standing in a long, red, fur-trimmed coat, holding a rolled parchment scroll (Naughty/Nice list) and carrying a gray sack filled with gifts over his shoulder. The piece features a high-gloss glaze finish. The base bears the circular black factory backstamp reading “ROYAL DOULTON, ” “CLASSICS, ” “BONE CHINA HAND MADE AND HAND DECORATED, ” and “© 2007 ROYAL DOULTON DESIGNED IN ENGLAND HN 5040.” (Note: The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity states the figure is modeled in earthenware, contrasting the bone china mark on the base.)
