A vintage Escape From Colditz board game, published by Parker (UK) and devised by Major P.R. Reid, M.B.E., M.C., dating to circa 1973. The game is housed in its original illustrated cardboard box featuring period-style artwork and a swastika motif. The set comprises a large folding game board depicting a detailed plan of Colditz Castle, a collection of wooden playing pieces in six colours (blue, red, green, black, yellow, and brown) contained within a plastic insert, and multiple decks of themed cards including Do or Die and Personal Civilian Escape Kit. The lot includes various paper ephemera such as a facsimile To all Prisoners of War! informational sheet and a replica German Urlaubsschein (leave permit) dated 1942. The interior of the box lid contains printed historical text regarding International Red Cross parcels. The box lid is marked Parker, Made in UK, and identifies Major Reid as the author of The Colditz Story and technical advisor to the BBC TV series.
