This lot comprises two examples of pressed glass hen-on-nest decorative items, a popular form of mid-century American-style glassware. The first is a complete covered dish executed in opaque white milk glass, featuring a lid in the form of a nesting hen with detailed feathering resting upon a basketweave-moulded base. The second item is a lid only, crafted from marigold iridescent carnival glass, depicting a hen on a textured ground. Neither piece exhibits maker’s marks, signatures, or pontil marks, which is typical for mass-produced pressed glass of this era from manufacturers such as Westmoreland or Indiana Glass. These items were often utilised as egg holders or trinket dishes. Dimensions unavailable.
