Manufactured by the Telephone Manufacturing Company (T.M.C.), this Telephone Set ‘F’ Mk. II is a standard portable field communication device used by British and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War. The unit is constructed from black Bakelite and features a magneto-operated signalling system with a folding hand crank on the front face. It is equipped with twin external brass bells and an original braided cloth-covered handset cord. The handset is stamped with a 1944 date, confirming its wartime manufacture. This is an electromechanical device and does not contain vacuum tubes.
