A pair of vintage silver-toned metal insignia related to the Scouting movement, identified through consensus research as an Assistant Scoutmaster Hat Plume Badge accompanied by a separate motto scroll. The first item is a circular badge featuring a central Fleur-de-lis emblem detailed with two stars, mounted over a dense red fiber plume. A banner inscribed with the motto BE PREPARED runs across the base of the emblem. This badge includes an attached brown woven cord and a pin fastening mechanism on the reverse. Faint hallmarks, including the numeral 61, are visible on the reverse hardware. The second item is a separate, curved banner or scroll badge, also cast in silver-toned metal, inscribed with the raised text BE PREPARED. This scroll badge features a small coil of dark wire attached to the bottom center, likely for mounting purposes. These pieces are consistent with early to mid-20th century Boy Scout leadership insignia.
