A single commemorative medallion struck in white metal or a silvered base metal, issued by the Borough of Wallsend to mark the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The obverse features the conjoined, crowned profile busts of King George V and Queen Mary, circumscribed by the text H M KING GEORGE V H M QUEEN MARY. The reverse displays a large eagle motif above the central inscription CORONATION / JUNE 22·1911., surrounded by the text 1910-1911 BOROUGH OF WALLSEND · M. W. SWINBURNE MAYOR. The medal is suspended by a brass jump ring from a textile ribbon featuring vertical stripes of orange/tan, off-white, and blue/gray.
