A collection of Second World War military and personal effects belonging to Private Walter A. Duggan, service number 736578. The group includes four service medals comprising the 1939-1945 Star, the Africa Star, the Defence Medal, and the War Medal 1939-1945, all with associated ribbons. Personal identification items include a circular compressed fibre identification tag stamped 73657.8 PTE DUGGAN W.A and a Tynemouth Insurance Committee medical card issued to Walter A. Duggan of 3 Tyne Terrace, North Shields. The lot features two black-and-white portrait photographs, one of a soldier in uniform and another of an elderly man with a child. Printed material includes a St. John Ambulance Association First Aid to the Injured manual and a cloth-bound My Military Prayer Book. Also present is an embossed brown leather document folder decorated with Egyptian-style chariot and hieroglyphic motifs.
