This vintage five-string banjo is a notable product of the A. O. Windsor company, manufactured at the Castle Works on Newhall Street in Birmingham, England. Designated as The Windsor Premier Model 2, the instrument features a wooden neck embellished with ornate mother-of-pearl floral and geometric inlays across the fretboard. The shaped headstock is clearly stamped with the model identification on the reverse. The construction includes a wooden rim with a series of metal tension hooks and an internal wooden dowel stick bearing the maker’s authentic metal plaque. The instrument is equipped with a chrome-finished armrest and a metal tailpiece. It is sold with a patterned woven textile strap and a black soft gig bag. Measurements not provided.
