Robert Cox (American, 1934-2001). Oil on stretched canvas. This vibrant floral still life depicts a bouquet of pink roses and purple wildflowers arranged in a globular pink vase. The work is executed in a loose, mid-to-late 20th-century impressionistic style, featuring confident brushwork and heavy impasto, particularly within the floral petals where palette knife application is evident. Signed ROBERT COX in reddish-brown paint at the lower right corner. Presented in an ornate, heavily moulded gilt-finished composite frame with rococo-style scrollwork, floral motifs, and a distressed antique finish. 43 cm x 53 cm.
