A whistle and a small oil canister, both of brass construction and dating to the World War II period. The whistle is fashioned from a .30 calibre brass cartridge case, with the headstamp marked 1943, WE, and CAL .30. It is capped with a British copper coin depicting King George VI, bearing the inscription GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP. The accompanying oil canister is of flattened oval form with a soldered handle and a spout currently fitted with a cork stopper. Both pieces demonstrate field-made construction with visible solder seams.
