A sterling silver Art Deco style trophy tankard by the prominent makers Walker & Hall, featuring a barrel-shaped upper body above a faceted lower section and a stepped circular foot. The vessel is fitted with a distinctive angular, geometric handle and retains a gilded interior. The body is professionally engraved with a presentation inscription for the Building Societies Golfing Association Captains Prize, Buxton, May 1939, Presented by Leslie W. Bayley. Full British hallmarks for Sheffield, 1938, are struck near the rim, including the maker mark W&H, crown, lion passant, and date letter v. The underside bears the Walker & Hall manufacturer mark, pennant logo, and serial numbers 54060 and 65. Dimensions and weight not recorded.
