A Second Model German Army (Heer) Officer’s Dress Dagger, a pattern introduced in 1935 for wear by officers and high-ranking NCOs. The hilt comprises a globular pommel decorated with a high-relief oak leaf motif and a central swastika, and a crossguard featuring the Heer-style eagle with down-swept wings clutching a wreathed swastika. The grip is constructed from ribbed, cream-coloured celluloid (Trolon). The double-edged steel blade is a premium variant, featuring decorative etched foliate and oak leaf patterns extending from the ricasso. No manufacturer’s mark is present on the ricasso, which is characteristic of certain private-purchase examples. The scabbard is made of steel with a pebbled finish, featuring two oak leaf suspension bands and a matching oak leaf design on the chape.
