This item is a modern, decorative novelty dagger produced in the style of a German Second World War Schutzstaffel (SS) service dagger. It is a non-authentic reproduction featuring a stainless steel blade and an injection-moulded black synthetic grip. The grip is inset with a silvered eagle clutching a swastika and a circular runic emblem at the pommel. The crossguard, pommel, and scabbard fittings are constructed from cast metal with an antiqued brass-coloured finish, decorated with ornate, raised oak leaf and acorn patterns. These ornate castings are a fantasy design element typical of contemporary decorative knives and were never utilised on standard-issue period daggers, which featured smooth hilt and scabbard fittings made of nickel-plated brass or nickel-silver. The blade bears modern commercial markings, including a stylised logo for the brand Defender and a Stainless Steel stamp near the crossguard. It lacks any authentic period manufacturer logos or Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) codes required for genuine Third Reich edged weapons.
