A charming Birks, Rawlins & Co. Savoy China polychrome porcelain figurine depicting a young girl in traditional European folk costume. The figure is shown in a pensive pose, holding a yellow mug or pitcher in her right hand, with her left hand tucked into her bodice. She wears a striped bonnet, a floral-patterned vest over a blue and white striped blouse, and a long magenta skirt with a decorative green and gold border. The figure stands on a grassy base beside a large sculpted mushroom and a low textured wall. The underside features a circular black transfer-printed factory mark for Birks, Rawlins & Co. (BR & Co.), Stoke-on-Trent, England, with the trade name SAVOY CHINA. An underglaze blue dot decorator mark is present on the unglazed foot rim. Height 14cm.
