A vintage ornamental pipe rest manufactured by the renowned Wade of England. This piece features a finely detailed, glazed porcelain figurine of a brown spaniel-type dog, typically identified as a Red Setter, standing upon a curved, leaf-green base designed to cradle a tobacco pipe. The underside of the porcelain is unglazed and features the embossed maker’s mark WADE ENGLAND. This item is notably accompanied by its original cardboard presentation box, which is printed with ORNAMENTAL PIPE REST by WADE OF ENGLAND and Genuine WADE Porcelain alongside a product illustration. Wade’s range of animal-themed pipe rests remains a popular niche for collectors of English porcelain and smoking ephemera from the mid-to-late 20th century.
