An early 20th-century Arts and Crafts style desktop file chest, expertly crafted from quartersawn oak with a rich, dark-stained finish. This utilitarian yet decorative piece features three drawers, each framed by distinctive notched moulding along the face and dividers. The drawers are constructed with secondary pine using period-appropriate nailed joinery. Each drawer front is fitted with its original metal bin-pull handle, featuring integrated label holders that retain a deep, authentic patina. While reminiscent of designs by renowned makers such as Globe Wernicke or Macey, this example remains unlabelled. The piece serves as a fine example of early 20th-century office cabinetry, combining the durability of oak with the geometric simplicity of the Arts and Crafts movement. Dimensions: 28cm H x 36cm W x 42cm D (Approximate).
