An Art Deco style bronze sculpture after Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947), depicting an exotic dancer in a dynamic, poised stance. The figure is balanced on one foot with the other knee raised, wearing an intricately detailed feathered and beaded headdress, a beaded bodice, and a draped skirt that flows with her movement. The work features a dark brown patina and is mounted on a multi-tiered circular black marble plinth. The integral bronze base is incised with the initials D.H and the number 55. This piece is a later casting modelled in the manner of the celebrated Romanian sculptor, likely produced using the lost wax method. 53 cm x 25 cm x 18 cm.
