This lot comprises a pair of vintage pedagogical anatomical models manufactured by the renowned German firm Somso Modelle, Coburg. The first item is a three-part kidney relief model, reference LS 9, constructed from hand-painted SOMSO-Plast resin and mounted upon a green-finished composition board. This instructional set features three distinct relief models: a right kidney enlarged approximately three times life size showing the renal pelvis and vascular system; a nephron enlarged 120 times detailing the tubule system; and a renal corpuscle enlarged 700 times illustrating Bowman’s capsule. The board is printed with multilingual identification labels in German, English, French, and Spanish, and bears the Somso company logo. The second item is a three-dimensional anatomical model of the human eye in orbit, attributed to Somso and bearing a circular paper distributor label for Gerrard and Haig Limited, Sussex and Surrey. Mounted on a rectangular grey wooden plinth, the model illustrates the eye within the bony orbit, showing extrinsic ocular muscles, the optic nerve, lacrimal apparatus, and surrounding vascularity. The various anatomical features are numbered for reference.
