The composition is viewed from a grassy, wildflower-covered overlook, looking towards the maritime buildings, cranes, and jetty. The artist employs a soft, atmospheric palette for the hazy, clouded sky, contrasted with vigorous, textured strokes in the foreground foliage and delicate line work defining the distant port machinery.
