Buyer's Premium:

A pair of fine 19th-century gilt and patinated bronze (ormolu) ornamental candlesticks executed in the Regency style. Each piece features a central foliate-cast stem terminating in a tulip-form nozzle with leaf-moulded rims. The base of each stem is encircled by three gracefully modelled swans finished with a dark chemical patination. The tripartite bases are heavily decorated with neoclassical and rocaille elements, including large scallop shells and acanthus scrolls, all supported by three shell-form feet. The items exhibit high-quality casting with fine chased details throughout. The modular construction is secured to the underside with modern-style nuts, washers, and wingnuts, indicating later professional assembly or restoration. Dimensions: Height 25cm, Base Width 15cm. Weight: 1.8kg per candlestick.
