A pair of fine bone china figurines by Coalport, both hand-decorated in England and designed by modeller Jack Glynn. The first figurine, titled Sue, is from the Ladies of Fashion series and was designated Figurine of the Year 1998. She is depicted in a sophisticated pink sleeveless gown with raised floral detailing, a cream shawl, and a pillbox hat adorned with beads and a pink rose. The base bears the Coalport crown mark, the modeller’s signature, a 1997 copyright, and hand-written factory marks K25 and 18 9/97. The second figurine, Lady Sara, is a limited edition piece from the High Society series, numbered 2,904 of 5,000. She wears an elegant blue Victorian-style gown with a white tiered ruff collar and a wide-brimmed hat heavily decorated with multi-coloured flowers. She holds gold-toned opera glasses and a closed blue parasol. The base features the Coalport crown mark, the specific edition number, the modeller’s signature, a 1996 copyright, and factory marks K3 A, 61, and Y15. Height 22cm.
