A mid-century Japanese black lacquer miniature grand piano jewellery box featuring a hand-painted decorative motif of sailboats to the keyboard cover, opening to reveal a red velvet-lined interior with an inset mirror. The lot includes a numismatic collection of eleven British coins, featuring a 1953 Elizabeth II coronation year set (Half Crown, Two Shillings, One Shilling, Sixpence, and Threepence), a 1947 George VI Farthing, and a bronze One Penny. Featured jewellery includes a ladies’ Avia silver-tone wristwatch with baton indices and a stainless steel link bracelet; a faceted black glass bead necklace; a gold-tone open-work pendant set with an iridescent abalone cabochon on black beads; and a “liquid silver” style necklace with embossed floral spherical beads. Religious items include a rosary with amber-coloured translucent beads and a mother-of-pearl panelled cross. Assorted pins and brooches include a Soroptimist International medallion, a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (R.N.L.I.) enamel shield pin, a nautical flag pin, aurora borealis rhinestone floral pins, a pink enamel flower pin with faux pearl, and a large silver-tone filigree brooch set with a mottled brown jasper-style stone.
